Witches Falls Winery is one of the vibrant new generation of Queensland wineries located on Mt Tamborine in the magnificent Gold Coast Hinterland.

We source premium grapes from the Granite Belt to produce a select range of quality hand made Queensland wines. We are achieving some fantastic results including the Trophy for the Best White Wine at the 2005 Queensland Wine Awards.

Our philosophy is simple - to combine meticulous attention to detail, innovation with the best of traditional winemaking practices to create exceptional varietal wines. As a family owned and operated winery, we offer both experienced wine buffs and new-comers a range of insights into the world of winemaking.

Our Cellar Door is open daily from 10am to 4pm for tasting and sales.

Tasting Notes

BRONZE MEDAL - 2009 CAIRNS SHOW WINE AWARDS

This dark ruby wine displays luscious strawberry and cherry on the nose. Subtle dark cherry, raspberry and smokey oak combine with fine tannins on the palate. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will develop more savoury characteristics with careful cellaring.

Vineyard Location and Condition

Henty Estate vineyard from which this Pinot Noir was sourced is located in the Granite Belt which is situated on the Great Dividing Range 850m above sea level and 95 km inland from the coast. The winters are cold and frosty and summers warm producing a continental climate. Most of the region's rainfall comes in spring feeding the growing buds and shoots. The soil is largely composed of granite, somewhat on the acidic side and is very free draining. This 2006 Granite Belt Pinot Noir is a true reflection of an exceptional vintage.
