You say 'Shiraz', I say 'Syrah' - it is the same grape none the less.  In France Shiraz is known and grown as Syrah.

The 2008 Granite Belt 'Prophecy' Shiraz combines inky, blackcurrant and toasty aromas on the nose.  On the palate, intense dark berry and dark cherry flavours combine with firm tannins and cedary oak to provide wonderful length and persistence.

Vineyard Location and Condition

Witches Falls produces 'Prophecy' wines from selected parcels of fruit that we consider to be exceptional.  As a result, these wines may not be seen in every vintage.

In 2008 the elements combined to deliver a truly exceptional vintage in the Granite Belt.  Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon vines in particular thrived in the near perfect ripening and growing conditions to produce intensely flavoured fruit.  We have crafted our 'Prophecy' Syrah from a select bock near Ballandean in the Granite Belt.  The wine has been matured in 100% new French oak barriques for 22 months.
