Our 2008 Granite Belt 'Prophecy' Cabernet Sauvignon shows a rich blend of blackberry aromas on the nose supported by hints of tobacco and chocolate. On the palate, intense dark berry flavours combine with firm tannins and cedary oak to provide length and persistence. 

Our Prophecy Cabernet Sauvignon has an exceptional pedigree - the 2006 vintage won a Gold Medal at the 2008 QLD Wine Awards while the 2005 vintage was the highest scoring in its class at the prestigious 2007 Rutherglen Wine Show and was rated 94 points out of 100 by James Halliday in his 2009 edition of the Australian Wine Companion.

Vineyard Location and Condition

Witches Falls produces 'Prophecy' wines from selected parcels of fruit that we consider to be exceptional.  As a result, these wines may not be seen in every vintage.

In 2008 the elements combined to deliver a truly exceptional vintage in the Granite Belt.  Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz vines in particular thrived in the near perfect ripening and growing conditions to produce intensley flavoured fruit.  We have crafted our 'Prophecy' Cabernet Sauvignon using 100% new French oak barrels to produce a wine that we believe eloquently demonstrates the incredible potential of the Granite Belt.
