2005 was a magnificent vintage in the Granite Belt with near perfect conditions producing intensely flavoured fruit. Our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon shows vibrant dark berry aromas on the nose. Juicy blackcurrant and fine tannins combine to produce a plump, generous palate. Balanced, integrated oak provides structure, length and persistence. This wine will reward careful cellaring.
$22.00 per bottle
Henty Estate vineyard from which our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced is located in the Granite Belt which is situated on the Great Dividing Range 850m above sea level and 95 km inland from the coast. The winters are cold and frosty and summers warm producing a continental climate. Most of the region's rainfall comes in spring feeding the growing buds and shoots. The soil is largely composed of granite, somewhat on the acidic side and is very free draining.
