Witches Falls Winery is one of the vibrant new generation of Queensland wineries located on Mt Tamborine in the magnificent Gold Coast Hinterland.
We source premium grapes from the Granite Belt to produce a select range of quality hand made Queensland wines. We are achieving some fantastic results including the Trophy for the Best White Wine at the 2005 Queensland Wine Awards.
Our philosophy is simple - to combine meticulous attention to detail, innovation with the best of traditional winemaking practices to create exceptional varietal wines. As a family owned and operated winery, we offer both experienced wine buffs and new-comers a range of insights into the world of winemaking.
Our Cellar Door is open daily from 10am to 4pm for tasting and sales.

The Austalian Wine Research Institute has conducted studies of fermentations 'co-inoculated' with more than one strain of yeast. The studies showed that 'co-inoculated fermentations resulted in Sauvignon Blanc wines with a significantly modified chemical aroma profile and a potentially enhanced aroma profile, relative to single yeast ferments and blended wines.'
Based on this research we co-inoculated our 2008 Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful results. Capsicum, asparagus and greeen herbaceous aromas combine with grass and citrus flavours to deliver a classic Sauvignon Blanc.
$18.00 per bottle
The fruit for this Sauvignon Blanc was grown by Davydd and Cheryl Westlake near the township of Ballandean on the Granite Belt. The Granite Belt is situated on the Great Dividing Range 850m above sea level and 95 km inland from the coast. The winters are cold and frosty and summers warm producing a continental climate. Most of the region's rainfall comes in spring feeding the growing buds and shoots. The soil is largely composed of granite, somewhat on the acidic side and is very free draining.
